1 The number of local Parks designated as "unknown" included in the high impact total could vary; since the original data sets did not specify the names of such local parks each listing of "unknown" with a high impact potential is listed as a separate park. Therefore, if there are any overlaps of local "unknown" parks due to the different route options they are not accounted for due to the orignal data restraints. 2 If park is impacted high and medium because of varying route options*** the results consider only one high impact variable for all possible impacts; however, it is to be assumed that all high impact variables have a medium potential for constructive use. 3 The total number of medium constructive use indicates only those parks of which medium is the highest impact value assigned. The actual total number of potential medium constructive use (including high impact column) equals 215. 4 The default measure for medium impact is based on each original study measures. Specifically, Bay Area to Merced and Los Angeles-Orange County-San Diego are measured at 150 to 500 feet while Sacramento to Bakersfield, Bakersfield to Los Angeles, and Los Angeles to San Diego via Inland Empire are measured at 150 to 450 feet. Additionally, if the proposed route is to be constructed within an existing railway within the Bay Area to Merced route option the highest potential impact assigned is "medium" even if less than 150 feet from the centerline.
